Palletforce chief executive Michael Conroy has revealed his pride in how employees have responded to an unprecedented year by giving every one of them a thank-you gift.
With Palletforce dealing with the pandemic, the disruption caused by Brexit and with record volumes, Michael said he has been incredibly impressed with the dedication and determination of the workforce.
In a message to staff, he said: “I feel it is only right that I record our special thanks for your exceptional efforts, flexibility, commitment, and dedication over the last 12 months, and, more specifically, the last six to eight weeks.
“The SuperHub has been dealing with record volumes and all of our ‘frontline’ colleagues have been going the extra mile to help – working every available shift, covering on weekends and operating flat-out, while at the same time working to maintain our exceptional standards and service levels.
“That work has been underpinned by our fantastic back-office support teams and colleagues working in the field.
“We know that it has been a hectic, difficult time, but be in no doubt that your hard work is appreciated by both me and the rest of the Palletforce team.
Volumes through the SuperHub were at times up by more than 30% at the end of last year and new volume records have been set in recent weeks, putting pressure on all Palletforce teams.
Michael added: “Palletforce could not be the sector-leading, trailblazing network it is without the invaluable contributions of our staff. Never has that been more evident than over the last few weeks when we have all pulled together as one to handle the record-breaking volumes.”
“It’s easy to regard each pallet as just freight but your efforts are helping rebuild the UK economy after the impact of COVID-19 and helping hospitality and retail businesses get back open and trading again.
“I am proud of every single one of you – thank you.”
