EV Cargo Solutions has sealed important contract extensions with two long-term customers worth £23 million after renewing its contract with Grace Foods and extending its current agreement with Whirlpool UK.

Grace Foods is a supplier of Caribbean food and drink products and EV Cargo Solutions will provide UK managed transport of groupage, part and full loads – delivering products safely to regional distribution centres, wholesalers, cash and carry depots and high street stores.

Building on a relationship which is more than 10 years old, Solutions will help deliver over 45,000 pallets of products every year, utilising the expertise of EV Cargo Logistics to handle distribution of chilled stock. It will also leverage the expertise and regional knowledge of its national partner haulier network to ensure efficient delivery to high street locations and urban stores.

Solutions will also manage the transport of full loads of Whirlpool white goods to retailers, for inter-site replenishment and to Whirlpool satellite platforms for in-house cross dock and home delivery.

It will involve over 20,000 loads annually and sees the division build on the strong relationship, agility and consistently high service it has delivered since 2007. To enhance efficiency and provide the most sustainable service, Solutions’ partner hauliers will operate specialist double-deck, extra-long and high-volume trailers.

Andy Humpherson, EV Cargo Solutions chief executive, said: “These two significant contract extensions highlight our strategy of continuous improvement and agility to adapt to new solutions in order to build robust, long-term customer relationships.

“The depth of strength in our national partner haulier network combined with innovative technology and expertise from other EV Cargo divisions ensure an unrivalled customer proposition for managed transport solutions.”
