Global logistics and technology business EV Cargo is targeting accelerated growth after expanding and strengthening its service offering with the creation of a new business division. EV Cargo Solutions will offer a range of flexible and on-demand services by combining and integrating the global capabilities across all EV Cargo business divisions.

EV Cargo’s existing and highly successful 4PL managed transport product Jigsaw will be at the heart of the Solutions division and current Jigsaw managing director Andy Humpherson will lead the new and expanded business.

In addition to the well-established Jigsaw proposition, EV Cargo Solutions will offer three new products: on-demand warehousing and consolidation, logistics and supply chain consultancy and integrated end-to-end supply chain solutions for global key accounts.

With access to over 175 UK operating centres, including the current Jigsaw partner haulier network and the Palletforce member network, EV Cargo Solutions’ on-demand warehousing will offer customers short-term storage and handling solutions from an extensive network of ambient, chilled and bonded facilities across the UK and Europe. It will also enable the development of agile, urban last-mile distribution solutions through a flexible network of out-of-town consolidation and sortation centres.

Harnessing the deep pool of logistics and supply chain knowledge and experience within EV Cargo’s global business, EV Cargo Solutions will offer a comprehensive range of technology-enabled consultancy services for both existing and prospective customers including network and flow of goods optimisation, customer service strategies, transport mode selection, fleet and load utilisation and initiatives to reduce carbon footprint.

Leveraging the combined global capability of EV Cargo across all divisions and operating markets, EV Cargo Solutions will orchestrate and deliver highly integrated and bespoke end-to-end logistics solutions. Underpinned by technology and data analytics, it will provide seamless visibility and control of shipments and inventory from source to shelf or final user.

Heath Zarin, EV Cargo chief executive, said: “The creation of EV Cargo Solutions is a key part of our long-term global growth strategy. Over the last 18 months, we have focused on both integration and growth and the Solutions division will deliver a range of new services aimed at adding value for our key customers and creating additional agile and responsive revenue streams. The combined capabilities across EV Cargo and its partners provide a powerful network of global resource with unrivalled local expertise.”
