EV Cargo Global Forwarding’s general manager in France has been recognised with one of the most prestigious civilian honours the French government can bestow.

Aicha Demarest has been appointed to the rank of Knight in the Order of Maritime Merit for her work in the shipping logistics industry.

She has been with EV Cargo Global Forwarding since 2017 and plays a vital role in the organisation’s growing international presence.

Originally established in 1930 to recognise the risks involved and the services rendered by seamen, and to reflect the important economic role of the Merchant Navy in France, the Order of Maritime Merit now covers all aspects of shipping and applies to Merchant marine crew, naval military personnel, and individuals who have distinguished themselves in the maritime field.

Aicha said: “I’m very proud to have received this honorary order which is awarded to those who have distinguished themselves in the development and influence of maritime activities. It’s an accolade I hold in high regard.”
